yesterday:

* bit more on core.py, disabled CR check for now. michael to review over w/e
* looked over DualPortSplitter, made some notes
* noticed that all pipe_data.py can be constructed from regspecs.  removed
hardcoding.
* lots of codemorph and whitespace cleanup
* put a preliminary version of mtmsr into the mdwn for Cole to check

today:

* decided to add a LDST compunit test so that LDST can be added to the
simple core.py
* add XER regfile check into test_core.py
