thank you for fixing this.  it will make an interesting experiment,
at least.  i want to try breaking it down in a more advanced version
of alu16, later.

ok - is that reported as a "success/fail" return code from the python
functions? i have seen a number of places where routing doesn't complete and
there is no warnings.

if so, then when the screen is covered in debug logs, from python we can
still catch important errors.
