cole can you create a separate script which rather than installs stuff in the
chroot just installs nmigen yosys simbiyosys and git clones the dev repos soc,
nmutil, ieee754fpu and so on?

not as a chroot just a straight install.

we need this quite fast becaude there are people who will need to use it over
the nect 1 to 5 days.
