Subject: [llvm-dev] TTA-based Co-Design Environment (TCE) v1.21 Released
To: llvm-dev <llvm-dev at lists.llvm.org>

TTA-based Co-Design Environment (TCE) is an open application-specific
instruction-set processor (ASIP) toolset for design and programming of
customized co-processors (compiler-programmable accelerators). It is
based on the energy efficient Transport Triggered Architecture (TTA)
processor template.

The toolset provides a complete retargetable co-design flow from high-
level language programs down to FPGA/ASIC synthesizable processor RTL
(VHDL and Verilog generation supported) and parallel program binaries.

The size and quantity of register files, function units, supported
operations, and the interconnection network can be freely customized to
create new co-processors ranging from small single-application specific
cores with special operations to static multi-issue domain-specific

Notable Changes

This release adds support for LLVM 10, brings back an alias analyzer
for spill code, removes the need for 8b loads in a minimal machine,
and now allows having only one type of extension mode in loads.

The Customized Parallel Computing research group of Tampere University,
Finland did most of their work to this release as part of the FitOptiVis
project funded by ECSEL Joint Undertaking under grant number
H2020-ECSEL-2017-2-783162. Further support was received from HSA
Foundation. The financial support is very much appreciated!
