just took a look: daniel can you please take care not to insert
massive amounts of whitespace at the end of lines?  i spent about 20
minutes removing whitespace from all files, yesterday, and there's now
about 15-20 re-insertions.  it's a flaw in a recent version of vim.

use "git diff" prior to a commit and the whitespace will show up
highlighted in red.
