hooraay! and that's got through as well.
https://lists.libre-soc.org/pipermail/libre-soc-dev/2024-January/005927.html

so you can remove alain from cc, and you should subscribe
yourself, if you haven't already. then read section 2.1
of https://libre-soc.org/HDL_workflow/

the main things:

1. trim unnecessary context
2. reply *inline* do not top or bottom post
3. use ASCII plaintext not HTML
4. use standard "> " reply indentation, and do not mess it up :)

technical mailing lists are nothing like "social chit-chat" mail.
you can get 3 4 5 8 10 *parallel topics* being discussed in
a *single email thread*, each under their own subsection of
the email, being replied to separately but sequentially.

someone failing to do something as simple as respecting the
number of "> " reply indents can throw an entire conversation
as you then have no idea who replied to what.

you will need to configure your mail client to properly
deal with this, or, if it can't, actually edit your reply
manually (!) yes i have done this in the past.

lots to learn, Rita :) but seriouly, without these things,
complex communication and development is just not feasible.
