i do get that.  i had to just recently set up couchdb in Docker, for running
a kubernetes cluster. it was painful and i wasted almost 2 days banging my
head against a wall, getting it to work.

all of which is time spent working out from non-standard locations.
debootstrap uses debian-archive-keyring "by default", out-of-the-box,
and i know it grabs the minimum packages required for an operational
chroot.

it would be time spent messing about researching something that's not
worth the effort when there's an alternative tool (debootstrap) that
does the job.
