okok what you could do, is mark each subcell with a boolean flag
"etesianignore", then call Etesian.place(), then *clear* some of those and call
it again, repeat that.

this i suspect would be very quick to code up, and have toColoquinte check the
boolean in the recursive tree walk of celks to place.
