*face-palm*... pipelines are pipelines... so if you set the "valid
input" flag for more than one cycle and read the "valid output" flag
only once and try to run that in a loop guess what happens?

i'd worked out for MUL that you need to set the "valid input" flag for
just the one cycle but had completely forgotten to do the same thing
for DIV.

for all the other pipelines - all of which are one cycle - it doesn't matter.
