 it's pretty "duUuuh", isn't it? :)  um i actually accidentally was
looking at multiply.v instead, and it took me an hour to realise it
wasn't adder.v.  the reason: most of the phases are absolutely
identical.  so that means we can create base classes that cover the
majority of the ALU tasks.

also i believe that the double-versions are just... different magic constants.
