excellent i put this straight into http://libre-riscv.org/vpu with a
little format-changing.  a good idea would be to start linking to the
relevent libavutil etc. etc. source code blocks, in a "references"
section, so that they're quick and easy to find.

i wasn't aware of the need for audio acceleration: thank goodness you
raised it.  we'll have to discuss with michiel because we've now been
through the independent external review process.  as long as it's not
"completely mad" i.e. like 50% of the total budget i see no reason why
it wouldn't be included.

i last worked on e.g. libspeex back in 2004, a company i worked for
sponsored the developer to write an ARMEL asm code block for a 90mhz
ARM9 processor.  lauri, do you have any similar pointers to relevant
pre-existing code/assembly blocks so we have a rough idea of what's
involved?
