something else occurred to me, samuel: i've had to focus for several
months, now, on the IEEE754 FPU.  that in turn has meant that the
discussion between mitch and myself, which inspired you to try a 6600
engine, is on hold.

it's *known* for both being utterly simple and small yet
extraordinarily complex at the same time, so don't beat yourself up
about it, ok?

we'll come back to the 6600 design and restart the discussions once
i've got the ALU into shape, ok?
