okaaay so mitch alsup confirmed that the 6600 design had 2 memory
references in pre-AGEN, and there were 5 LD buffer entries and 2 ST
buffer entries.

he also wrote a 40 page chapter in a book on the 6600 with someone
called james thornton, in response to some significant errors and
omissions in that paper.

fascinating.

so, i've asked him which book, and if he can send me a copy.
